• Our Business Development activities are mainly focusing on finding a global partner for our lead product (KBPA101) currently in PhII. KBPA101 received an orphan drug status designation in 2006 by the EMEA and FDA. The market potential for this product is quite sizeable with an estimated 1.5 million cases of ventilator-associated pneumonia. One single ventilator-associated pneumonia episode is estimated to cost up to $ 57'000.
In addition, three complementary monoclonal antibodies, for which partnering is an option, are in earlier stage of development (pre-clinical proof of concept in the relevant animal models).
• Kenta Biotech has an on-going partnership with Hoffmann-La Roche for the development of a diagnostic kit.
